"The Hebrew word [glory], kabod, means the 'weight' and therefore the 'worth' of something‚Äîas we speak of someone whose word 'carries weight.'  The glory of God is the worthiness of God‚Äîthe presence of God in the fullness of his attributes in some place or everywhere (Exod 16:10; 29:43; 33:19-34:8; Isa 6:3).  The indwelling presence of God was later defined as the shekinah (or 'indwelling'). (The New International Dictionary of the Bible, ¬© 1987 Zondervan, p. 392)
